Vinyl Grading Explained

Vinyl Grading Explained

🎵 How We Grade Vinyl at KornDog Records
If you’ve ever shopped for vinyl online, you’ve seen those little codes like NM/NM or VG+/VG+ in listings. But what do they really mean? At KornDog Records, we believe in keeping it straight-up and transparent. Here’s how we grade:
✅ Mint (M): Factory sealed, untouched. Basically brand-new.
✨ Near Mint (NM): Played once or twice, no visible scratches, plays perfectly.
👍 Very Good Plus (VG+): A few light marks, maybe a little crackle between tracks, but no skips.
👌 Very Good (VG): More wear, some surface noise, but still enjoyable.
🎶 Good (G): Heavy wear, plenty of noise, but playable if you’re into that gritty character.
We always list two grades: sleeve/vinyl.
Example: NM/VG+ means the cover looks perfect, but the record itself has light wear.
🎤 At KornDog, we don’t sugar-coat. What you see is what you get — photos included, no surprises. If we mess up the grading (rare, but we’re human), we’ll make it right.
👉 Shop confidently. Every record tells a story, and we’ll make sure you know exactly what kind of story you’re buying.
